Other Services
In addition to knives, chisels, and plane irons, we are able to sharpen a few other types of tools. At the moment, this includes household scissors and garden pruners.
Scissors
Most household scissors can be sharpened.
Pruners
Most bypass style hand pruners, loppers, or other handheld garden pruners can be sharpened.
Anvil type pruners can also be sharpened, but unless they have some type of adjustment mechanism, repeated sharpening will leave a gap between the blade and the anvil base, resulting in incomplete cuts.
Mowers and blades
Rotary mower blade (removed from lawnmower) - $15
Reel mower tuneup (adjustment, sharpening, light lubrication) - $20
Axes and Hatchets
Hatchet or hand maul - $7.50
Long-handled axe or splitting maul - $10.00
If your blade has heavy damage (large chips) that you would like removed, an additional $5 to $10 will be added to the base cost depending on the severity of the damage.
